Tillie and Clementine lived with their parents in an old brick house down in Benton Park. One night Mommy had to go to a neighborhood meeting, so it was up to Daddy to feed the girls and get them ready for bed. But the girls are later awakened by strange noises coming from just outside their window! What could it be and what will they do?!
This is the cutest book ever, and it is set in St Louis!
I love everything about this book. The artwork is beautiful.
Not only is the tale lively and enchanting, but the illustrations are adorable...After reading this story, kids will be clamoring to read about the further adventures of these delightful girls.
Reminiscent of the classic comic strips. Good stuff. - Chris Lawyer, 88.1 KDHX
Order your copy here and get it mailed to you. Dan will sign it to whomever you want. Just let him know in the "special instructions" box. How cool!
Tillie & Clementine books are inspired by Dan’s two little nieces and the bedtime stories his brother tells them. Most every night, Mike plops down in the chair beside his girls’ bunk and begins each story, “There once was a girl named Tillie and she had a sister named Clementine and they loved to have fun.” He then goes on to improvise a tale that weaves together events of the day with made-up predicaments and adventures. Like the characters in the book, this crazy family lives in an old brick house down in Benton Park and loves to have fun.
The author/illustrator is available to come to your school, club, party, church, synagogue, or wherever. Appearances include a reading of the book, slide show of how he develops ideas, question and answer session, book signing, and a drawing demonstration. Neat!
